Aconcagua parkEntrance and permits

To enter Aconcagua Provincial Park, it is necessary to obtain a personal permit from Cuba building, Mendoza city (Las Tipas and Los Robles Avenue, General San Martín Park). By signing this permit, the person releases the Administration of Renewable Natural Resources (governmental institution in charge of the administration of Aconcagua Park) and the Government of Mendoza from all responsibility for the accidents that could occur to the climber inside the park and accepts the regulations in the Statute of Use of the Park.

Business hours for issuing permits are:
Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Access to the Park is between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. For further information call 4252031 or send an e-mail to (aconcagua@mendoza.gov.ar).
Children under 14 can only enter the Park up to Quebrada del Durazno (3100 meters above sea level). Youngsters between 14 and 21 can only enter with an authorization from both parents, certified by a notary public or another competent authority. For foreign visitors the age limit is that from the country of origin.

Outside the season, Decree 50/2002 is in force, which sets rates, and Resolution 950/2000, which establishes admission rules. The main points are:
- Climbers must submit before the Administration an affidavit where they assume all responsibility for the risks of the expedition, releasing from responsibility the Administration of Renewable Resources, its authorities and the Goverment of Mendoza.
- They will be responsible for all the expenses incurred in the case of a rescue procedure and/or medical care that might arise during the expedition.
- Upon request, climbers must submit a list of their specific technical equipment for winter ascent.
- The Administration could also request a security insurance policy or the necessary guarantees in case of an eventual rescue or evacuation.
- The climbers must submit a resume of ascents, which prove that they have experience in winter ascents. Anyway, the authorization is the prerogative of the competent institutions, who are not obliged to accept the request.
